Office Workspace

♦ Limit horizontal surfaces. The more you have, the more places available to make “piles.”

♦ Label all of the drawers, cubbyholes, and crannies, so that you can find things as well as know where to put them after use.

♦ Work ergonomically. On a healthy note, make sure your desk and chair are set up so that you are working ergonomically. When sitting up straight in your chair:

— Your arms should hang loosely with your elbows bent at 90 degrees.

— Your forearms and thighs should be parallel to the floor.

— Your back and calves should be perpendicular to the floor.

— Your feet should be fat on the floor.

— You should be looking straight ahead at your monitor.

— Your eyes should be focused about one-third of the way down from the top of the screen.

—Your wrists should be flat or slightly cocked up on the keyboard and mouse, defnitely not bent down.
